Christmas Eve 2009

I don't have a single picture from today and Reagan looked so cute in her Gingerbread dress tonight.  Oh well...we are just happy to be in Florida safe and sound.  I want to document the day because it was a crazy one to remember.  We pulled out of the driveway in Easton, PA, where it was a balmy 23 degrees, and dad exclaimed, "We're off on the Griswold Christmas Vacation".  I distinctively remember saying, "Oh, I hope not." 

Here's the short version of the day...my list won't even do it justice:
1. Left Reagan's most important bag with nebulizer and prescription medication on dining room table...realized this at 10:00am while in line to check in...John left the airport at 10:18am and our flight was to leave at 11:25am.  We live 20 minutes away.  Somehow, by the grace of God, he made it back and to the gate by 11:10am.
2. Rental Car Nightmare that included almost getting wiped out by a bus. 
3. Dehydration from no drinks on the plane and a very grumpy preggo
4. Get to the condo...no running water or working cable and had to have the neighbors come help out. 
5. Mom and I racing to the grocery store to get food by 6:00 because they were closing and tomorrow is Christmas...mob scene.  At checkout, both of our credit cards say we aren't authorized...what???
6. Dad loses his keys...finds them.
7. Porta-crib isn't what we thought and takes more time to assemble...going to need a pack-n-play.
8. Need to be at a dinner at 7pm with family friends...didn't want to go...exhausted, but actually ended up being great and made it feel like Christmas to be around a family filled with love, great food, and such kindness to invite us into their home on this special day.

p.s. Fort Lauderdale is a lovely 80 degrees...I will have to be dragged onto the plane to go back to Easton.
