Well, after eagerly awaiting for weeks now, we welcomed Claire Jacqueline Arp into the world on Tuesday, June 22, 2010! She weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 20.5 in long. She is extremely cute just like her big sister Reagan. While Reagan has uncanny hand - foot coordination and will probably be a soccer star, I think Claire will be into basketball because she has pretty big hands coming out of the womb. If they don't play sports and are into ballet, cheerleading or other girlie stuff, I will be just as proud and probably embarrass them when they get older as a I cheer them on. Imagine their embarrassment if they become cheerleaders and I stand to up to yell for them after a good cheer during a basketball game timeout! I get that from my mother who would always cheer at my soccer games, and it seems like her voice carried for my miles. My team mates often told me that she was our best and LOUDEST fan.
Well I digress... Ally again performed in top form doing an awesome job delivering Claire. This delivery was much quicker than Reagan's 5-day birth extravaganza. We arrived at the hospital around 9AM and out popped Claire promptly at 2:13 PM. Both Ally and Claire are doing great and will be ready to go home tomorrow. Big Sister Reagan met her for the first time today and was excited to see her - well sort of - that wore off after a few minutes and then she realized that she needed to change her 5 inch Dora doll with a Number 5 toddler's diaper!
Ally and I are so blessed to have two wonderful girls now, and loving, supporting families that drive for hours to see us and welcome Claire into the Arp family.
