Finally, I am posting!!

What an experience this has been! John did a good job of summing up our long weekend in the hospital waiting for Reagan's arrival. I have never done anything so difficult in my life, yet nothing has been so rewarding! And there is no way I could have done it without him. He was my strength through it all and especially during those OH so painful contractions. Thank goodness for epidurals!!! How (and why) do women do it without?? Also, being on magnesium for almost 3 days was an experience - I felt like a zombie. Needless to say, when Tuesday came and I had been in the hospital since Friday afternoon, I was very ready to come home.

Now that I look back on the first week, I think it's gone well and seems to be getting a little easier each day as we are establishing somewhat of a routine. (And there is no way we could do it without our parents helping out) The lack of sleep in those first 3 or 4 days and my raging hormones has made for some fun days and nights! I still don't know what I'm doing, but John and I are trying to figure it out as we go. Oh, not to mention how painful breastfeeding is here in the beginning. That too is getting better and the pain is lessening.

As for John, I think he's already the best dad in the world! He is so wonderful with Reagan and is always willing and wanting to help - even in the middle of the night. He ended up having to work some last week, but today is his first full day back at the office. For the most part, he will be able to work one day a week from home. We are very excited about this!

I will post a few pics in this blog, but hope to add a slide show and her first bath pictures very soon.

P.S. You can see that Elle is warming up to her new sister. She doesn't much like it when Reagan cries, but she is sniffing her more now and laying next to her while she plays (or shall we say stares)!

Miss you!
